Everybody wants to grow in relationship with God, but too often we get derailed by self-doubt and bad theology. We forget that communicating with God, through prayer, is mostly about listening and has never been reserved for the "gifted" or super-spiritual. We need more training on prayer that fits what the Bible teaches and how Jesus and the early church modeled it.
